Wedding Shower Ideas
At the Iroquois Club, we host three to four wedding and baby showers every weekend, which means we’ve seen it all when it comes to party themes. From the creative to the classic, we’re sharing some of the ideas we’ve loved over the years. Happy planning (and call us if you need help).
English Tea Theme
The English tea party is a classic wedding shower theme that doesn’t require a lot of prep on your part as we offer a food package perfect for this theme. Our Authentic English Tea package provides a selection of English and specialty teas paired with different food items in a four-course meal. With the right decorations, you’ll feel like you’re right in London!
Paris Theme
A Paris theme offers another European escape if England isn’t your cup of tea. Bring the City of Love to the Iroquois Club using black-and-white striped decor with pink accents and subtle nods to famous Parisian landmarks (hello, Eiffel tower treats). When contemplating cuisine, don’t forget the crepes (which are available in our Perfect Brunch Buffet package) and French cocktails, like the French Blonde (St. Germain, gin and White Lillet mixed with grapefruit juice) and the French 75 (gin, brandy and champagne).
Wine Theme
For the discerning wine bride, transform the Iroquois Club into a winery without leaving Bloomfield Hills. Incorporate wine bottles into your centerpieces (this is a great idea if the bottles have significance to you and your partner’s life), use corks for place cards, and pass out mini bottles of wine as favors. Serving food that pairs well with wine, like cheese and grapes, enhances an already intoxicating theme.
Fall Theme
We’re not ready to rush into fall just yet, but why not pay homage to Michigan’s most-colorful season for your wedding shower? Dark and earthy colors, seasonal decorations (pumpkins, squash, leaves, cinnamon sticks, pinecones) and cozy vibes will make everything feel exceptionally autumnal despite the temperatures outside. Don’t forget the apple, cherry and pumpkin pies for dessert! This theme is especially fitting if you’re celebrating your nuptials next fall!
